Our Story
At Mercaz, we are building a stable, thriving Modern Orthodox community that will continue to strengthen, sustain, and grow Jewish life in Seattle for generations to come. A physical home for our communal and spiritual life is essential to that vision.
Over the past several years, Mercaz has been a place of meaningful communal, spiritual, and intellectual growth. We began renting a small space in 2016 and grew steadily, becoming a full Shabbat community in January 2019. Even through COVID, we continued to grow—by approximately 20% year over year—welcoming new individuals and families to Seattle’s North End.
Mercaz is a center for participation and leadership. With 65% of our adult membership under the age of 45, it is a place where young professionals and young families step into meaningful roles and learn the full range of communal involvement.
When you donate, you help ensure that future generations of Mercaz have a place to grow, learn, give back, and feel at home in their Jewish community.
When you give, you help establish a true home base—the Mercaz—serving as the center of Jewish life in North Seattle and beyond.
Whatever you can do to participate—let’s continue to build together.
