5775 Shavuot Schedule

Friday Night

Kabbalat Shabbat and meat/parve dinner followed by learning with guest Rabbi Stephen Belsky

  • 7pm start time. Class entitiled “Saying ‘No’ to Torah: A New Look at an Old Midrash” begins at 9pm.
  • Everyone welcome! Please RSVP by Thursday morning to rachelirosenfeld@gmail.com.  Suggested donation $10 per adult, $5 per child over six.  Pay by check to Mercaz or by donating through Paypal.
  • Please feel free to come for the class. Both events at the home of R’ Avi and Rachel Rosenfeld, 5240 38th Ave NE.

Saturday Night

  • At 9:48pm, we will meet in one of the downstairs classrooms at Congregation Beth Shalom for Yom Tov maariv. The Mercaz mechitza will be used for this service.
  • Between 11pm and 1am, learn with R’ Avi and our guest R’ Belsky at CSTL on the corner of 65th & 43rd.

  • From 1-2:30am, Rabbi Avi will be learning at Rabbi Harry Zeitlin’s Beit Midrash. This is the studio in the back of R’ Zeitlin’s house: 6523 39th Ave. NE. Go through the gate into the back.
  • 2:30-4am, R’ Avi will be giving a shiur on “The Fiftieth Gate: Tehillim and G-d’s Teshuva Toward Us” at Congregation Beth Shalom.
  • 4:10, daven netz in R’ Zeitlin’s Beit Midrash.

Sunday afternoon

Dairy/parve lunch and learn at the Rosenfeld home, 5240 38th Ave NE.

  • 2pm lunch. Everyone welcome! Suggested donation $8 per adult, $4 per child over six.  Pay by check to Mercaz or by donating through Paypal.
  • 4pm class. Feel free to come for just the class and dessert. R’ Belsky will be teaching a class titled “Not All Who Wander are Lost and Vice Versa: Tracking the Ten Tribes (Textual Mysteries of Scriptural Histories)“.

Monday afternoon

Learning for adults and kids, and play at View Ridge Park 2-5pm. Please bring your own picnic to join us. We will have some desserts and snacks to share.

  • Adult Class topic: Receiving the Torah as a Life Long Spiritual Practice
  • Adult/Child learning topic: Can I think about G-d in the bathroom?  The Six Constant Mitzvot
  • Women’s Discussion: Megillat Ruth: Chesed and Chutzpah
